- EIMCO Water Technologies proudly introduces new technology to the water environment industry. With its CleartecŪ System, EIMCO is offering the market a "better mousetrap" when it comes to Integrated Fixed-film Activated Sludge (IFAS) technology. In general, an IFAS system combines attached biomass with suspended biomass and allows capacity expansion without adding aeration basins to a facility; specifically, a solid media is immersed in the aeration basin of the activated sludge process. EIMCO's CleartecŪ System offers an IFAS system that focuses on the quality of the attached biomass rather than just the quantity of the attached biomass. The CleartecŪ System solves problems of media loss and breakage over short periods of time as well as problems of nuisance organisms. It promotes a thin-film attached biomass that lowers requirements due to lower required DO levels, that offers homogeneous rather than stratified aerobic bio-film, that offers controlled and steady-state sloughing of the bio-film, and that minimizes the possibility of nuisance organisms. The CleartecŪ System cultivates the attached biomass in a high-shear environment without compromising the "credited" attached biomass.
